Refund Policy
Last Updated: October 8, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to fees paid to Sri Nivasa Law Firm (Srinivas Law House) (“Firm”) for legal services. Legal services are professional services rather than goods, and work begins as soon as it is accepted. This policy is designed to be fair to both clients and the Firm.
1. Consultation Fees
- Where a paid consultation is booked, the fee is charged for the advocate’s time, review and advice, and not for any particular outcome.
- Once the consultation has taken place (in person, by phone or by video), the consultation fee is non-refundable, whether or not you decide to engage the Firm.
- If you cancel at least [24 hours] before the scheduled time, you may request a full refund or a free reschedule.
- If the Firm cancels or is unable to hold the consultation, you will receive a full refund or a rescheduled appointment, as you prefer.
- If you do not attend without notice, the fee is non-refundable.
- Any free or complimentary preliminary discussion is not chargeable, and no refund question arises.
2. Professional Fees and Retainers
- Fees for drafting, legal notices, filings, appearances and other services are payable as set out in your written engagement or fee agreement.
- Advance or retainer payments are applied to work done and expenses incurred.
- If an engagement ends before any work has begun, the advance (less any bank or payment gateway charges) will be refunded.
- If an engagement ends after work has begun, the Firm will assess the work done, such as drafting, research, conferences, filings and appearances, and any unused balance will be refunded within [15 working days] of written termination and settlement of the account.
- Fees for work already completed or in progress, including documents drafted, notices sent, petitions filed and court appearances made, are non-refundable.
- Fees are professional charges for effort and expertise. They are not contingent on the outcome of a case, and no refund is made because a matter is lost, delayed, adjourned or decided against you.
3. Court Fees, Stamp Duty and Other Expenses
Court fees, stamp duty, filing and registration charges, notary and attestation charges, courier and travel costs, and other out-of-pocket expenses paid to third parties are non-refundable once incurred. Amounts paid in advance but not yet spent will be refunded or adjusted against the final bill.
4. Situations Where Refunds Are Not Available
Refunds are not available where:
- The client withdraws after the service has been substantially performed;
- The client provides incomplete, false or delayed information or documents, causing delay or an unfavourable result;
- The matter ends in a settlement, withdrawal, dismissal or adverse order;
- A fixed-fee service (such as a legal notice, agreement or reply) has already been delivered; or
- The engagement is ended by the Firm due to the client’s non-cooperation, non-payment or breach of the engagement terms, or a professional or ethical conflict, after work has been done (any unused advance will still be adjusted as per Section 2).
5. Duplicate or Excess Payments
If you are charged twice or pay more than the agreed amount, the excess will be refunded in full on verification.
6. How to Request a Refund
- Email tatwadmeena@gmail.com with the subject line “Refund Request”, or call +91 96504 17556.
- Include your name, the matter or appointment reference, the amount and date of payment, the payment reference or transaction ID, and the reason for the request.
- We will acknowledge your request within [3] working days and reply with our decision within [7–10] working days.
- Approved refunds are made to the original mode of payment or the bank account from which the payment was received, and may take [5–7] working days to reflect, depending on your bank or payment provider.
7. Taxes and Payment Charges
GST or other taxes already paid on services rendered cannot be refunded. Payment gateway or bank charges, where applicable, may be deducted from refunds.
8. Disputes
We aim to resolve fee or refund disputes amicably and promptly. If a dispute cannot be resolved, the courts at Delhi have jurisdiction, subject to any applicable arbitration or statutory remedy.
9. Changes
We may revise this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in force at the time of your payment or written engagement applies to you.
